Be honest – you’re not happy with what you’re seeing in the mirror these days. As you gaze upon your reflection, you notice the accumulation of fine lines and wrinkles, along with uneven pigmentation and poor skin texture. Luminous skin reflects light such as that seen in a baby. As we age, our skin becomes less luminous thanks to the cumulative effects of sun damage, pollutants, and other environmental factors that we all inadvertently expose ourselves to. Fortunately, there’s an easy way for you to achieve an even, youthful, and glowing complexion, thanks to IPL (or FotoFacial)!

What Is an IPL Treatment?

IPL stands for “intense pulsed light,” which is an advanced skin treatment that we provide here at The Lifestyle Center. Unlike other laser therapies, which focus only one wavelength of light at your skin, an IPL treatment releases light in various wavelengths, similar to a photoflash. This light, which is more scattered than other therapies, will safely and effectively penetrate your skin to treat several skin conditions gently, including wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, sun damage, rosacea, and more. Best of all, the IPL process can be used to treat just about any area of the body!

How Can an IPL Treatment Improve My Skin?

Superficial flaws and areas of discoloration can become a thing of the past with this procedure! We use this cosmetic treatment to help minimize the effects of sun damage, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, achieve a more even skin tone, minimize large pores, smooth and rejuvenate the skin, and reduce redness and flushing that is often associated with rosacea.

What Can I Expect From an IPL Procedure?

On the day of your treatment, come into our center and relax as we thoroughly cleanse your skin to remove oils, impurities, and makeup. After we spread a thick, cold gel on your skin, we will begin applying our IPL machine’s painless light technology to the treatment area. You won’t have to worry about trying to fit this procedure into your busy schedule – one treatment lasts about 40 minutes! Overall, you should be able to resume your everyday activities after the procedure, although it is dependent on the severity of sun damage you may have.

What Should I Look for After My IPL Procedure?

Your skin may appear flushed after treatment, and you may notice that any sunspots you may have darkening. Don’t worry – this will naturally fade after a few days! We recommend that our patients wear sunscreen and avoid harsh cleansers following the procedure. You will also want to apply a gentle moisturizer right after the procedure and use a gentle cleanser with warm water twice a day.
